Margaret Baker, DNP, FNP-BC, is pleased to join Spinal Diagnostics.
Dr. Baker began her healthcare career as an RN, primarily working in critical care. She chose to pursue her education at the University of Portland because of the integrative medicine focus of their doctoral program, graduating cum laude with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice.
Having previously worked in neurosurgery, Dr. Baker has a good understanding of the indications for and limitations of spine surgery. She agrees with the neurosurgeon for whom she worked, that: "The best surgery is the surgery that never happened. To this end, she is excited to be working with Drs. Heros and Anderson and the Spinal Diagnostics team to help people explore more effective and less invasive methods of treating their chronic pain."
In addition, Dr. Baker has experience in internal medicine and primary care, and is looking forward to pursuing her interest in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence.
Another of Dr. Baker's passions has been volunteering in Haiti, where she completed her doctoral research. The experience of working in Haiti deepened her practice as a clinician, sharpened her leadership skills, and gave her a greater appreciation for the resources and technology we have at our disposal here in the United States.
